Private Pilot Licence

A private pilot licence allows you to fly a helicopter and carry passengers for private use.

To be eligible for a Private Pilot Licence:

  • 17 years old
  • DL9 or Class 2 Aviation Medical Certificate
  • Fit and Proper Person Assessment

Theory:

There is six subjects which must be passed with 70% or more

  • Flight Radio
  • Human Factors
  • Air Law
  • Navigation & Flight Planning
  • Meteorology
  • Aircraft Technical Knowledge

Minimum Flight Time

  • Cross-country: 10 hours
  • Mountain: 5 hours
  • Dual instruction: 30 hours
  • Solo flight: 15 hours
  • Total: 50 hours

Time Frame

  • Full-time: allow 3-5 months
  • Part-time: allow 12 months
