Commercial Pilot Licence
A commercial pilot licence allows you to fly a helicopter for hire or reward. A NZ CPL is well recognised internationally and is easily converted in most countries around the world. A unique career as a helicopter pilot can take you all over the world flying in a number of different roles.
To be eligible for a Commercial Pilot Licence:
- 18 years old
- Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate
- A private pilot licence

- Navigation & Flight Planning
- Meteorology
- Principles of Flight
- Aircraft Technical Knowledge
Minimum Flight Experience
- Cross-country: 20 hours
- Mountain: 10 hours
- Sling: 10 hours
- Total: 150 hours
Time Frame
- Full-time: allow 9-10 months
- Part-time: allow 2 years
