An agricultural pilot conducts spraying and top-dressing operations. This is an incredibly demanding yet rewarding role that generally leads to a large variety of work throughout your career. Agricultural pilots are often sought after and require a good knowledge of the ground work involved to excel.
To be eligible for an Agricultural Rating:
- Hold a Commercial Pilot Licence
- 200 hours in helicopters
- 100 hours as Pilot in Command of helicopters
Theory
- National Certificate in Agrichemical Application (or the New Zealand Certificate in Agrichemical Application from mid-2020)
- Growsafe Pilot Chemical Rating
Flight Training
- Undergo a course of Agricultural Flight Training by an E Catergory flight instructor
