Instructor Rating
Instructing is an incredibly rewarding career and can be a dedicated role or you can instruct alongside flying commercially. Experienced and competent instructors are hard to find, so an instructor rating is a real asset to have and develops the skills that companies are looking for in their senior positions. You should definitely consider an instructor rating at some stage in your career.
To be eligible for a Flight Instructor Rating:
- a commercial pilot licence
- 250 hours in helicopters
- 150hrs as Pilot in Command in helicopters
Theory
- Extensive knowledge of helicopter principles of flight
- Extensive knowledge of navigation
- Extensive knowledge of meteorology
- Completed an approved Instructional Techniques course
Flight Training
- 25 hours of flight instructor training
